There are many volunteers for Walton County Animal Shelter. Call them and tell them what you're looking for and they may be able to direct you to a foster. Alaqua is another. PAWS in FWB. Good luck!

The beach isn't the beach anymore. It's a business. And it sucks A$$ all the way around. Sad I live here and have no desire to even go down to the beach.

It was on the news in my hometown in Georgia. In 13 years, I have never heard of sea lice. why? Maybe Georgia beaches are desperate for our tourists?? lol!

I had some relatives come down and they stayed in Sandestin. Don't even TRY to see the beach there. It is UNREAL with the chair set ups. And it's 60.00 per day. 30.00 for the chairs and 30.00 for the umbrella. lol! Kind of wish I had jumped on the beach chair business wagon years ago. ; )

Check Walton county shelter. They have many great dogs and a lot of volunteers that work with them, vet them, and hold events to get them adopted. There is a facebook page Security Check Required

Same ole song and dance...I would just like to be able to take a walk or bike ride without coming within inches of my life. And my kids would love a way to get to other streets and play with neighbors here without getting on the road to get there. I feel trapped on my dead end street.

The reason we don't utilize the state parks is because there is no lifeguard. I have 2 kids so when we go to the beach, I want to be near the lifeguard station.

I've been begging for one on West Hewitt too....to no avail.

The State parks do a great job keeping the dunes apart from 'customary use' with minimal posts and rope. Use the same logic with gulf front owners....especially the ones that have put out hundreds of feet of 'walkover'. They are all trying to establish new property lines for themselves.

I've said it before, Carl Hiassen would have a field day with the material in Walton county. In reality though, this county is probably no different than every other Floriduh county.

I've declined to comment thus far. This has divided our community and it saddens me to read the insults by both sides. Now the NAACP is involved and we all know at this point in time, they are the biggest race-baiters in the game of making money off of racial division.

To be fair, we cruised through the complex a bit ago. The interior looks well maintained, but the entrance on W. Hewitt is bad.
