Hey, it'll never happen to us...

This happened to me at my home last year (I live in Sandestin), and they trashed my car and took the stereo. We never found out who it was. The worst part is I'm still paranoid/suspicious of certain people I see walking around my neighborhood. I've got a strong feeling it's somebody I know.

Notice more and more restaurants taking cash only

Gas stations had this problem over the past few years when gas prices were getting higher. The gas station only profits a few cents per gallon of gas that is sold (no matter what gas prices are). If the gas station has to pay 3% of credit card fees of say $50 (15 gal) tank of gas that is filled...

    Cafe Bouche in Seagrove Beach

The Summerhouse was one of my favorite places when I first moved down here. I'm excited if John's opening a place on 30A. I hope this is true!

    98 BBQ (vs. Jambones)

I love Jambone! It seems people get so nasty about restaurants compared to other businesses. I feel for these restaurant workers/owners that have to try to please everyone. People are so picky sometimes with about their food and service they expect. It's hard to please everyone. My...

    Hang up and eat!

I hate people texting almost as much as I hate it when they talk on their cell phone. My daughter came down to visit us last week, and we all went to the movies. We sat in the back of the theater and every couple of minutes a bright light from a cell phone would come on and take me out of the...

Red Bar: The Local Gold Standard

I couldn't agree more. The Red Bar is such a great place. I love taking out-of-town family and friends there on their first day here. It always starts their vacation/trip on the right foot.

    Vintij!

Vintij is my favorite restaurant in Sandestin. The food is great and always consistent, and the service is always good. And what a selection of wines! And it's close to my condo! I suggest you try it if you haven't been.

Cheap Grouper on the Menu? Give it a Close Look

A restaurant I used to fequent 10-12 years ago in Gulf Shores got busted using pollack for grouper; so this has been going on for a while. My brother-in-law has a charter boat and knows alot of the local fishermen. Evidently, grouper is so overfished that it's becoming hard to supply grocery...

    Onano

Onano is a great restaurant. I live in Destin, but I work in that area sometimes. I always try to stop by for lunch. The food is great and the service is friendly. I contacted the manager the other day about possibly having our Christmas party there. There's also a great place out there...

7 Year Wedding Anniversary- thoughts on where to dine?

Cafe Tango is great, but can I suggest maybe Cafe Provence? The wife and I have been going pretty steadily for the past few months and everytime it has been great. Onano is good as well. We have only been for dinner a few times, but we go to their Sunday brunch at least every other Sunday...

    Favorite restaurants

Gravel Road is definitely on the up and up. My wife and I went a couple of years ago, and were very disappointed. It seemed like they were short on staff. We went back a few weeks ago and were very pleased. I've heard a few people say the same thing. Speaking of Onano's, we went to their...
