Pat Carlyle will speak at the January 4 meeting of the Emerald Coast Meditation Society. Her topic will be “Creating Mindfulness Practices in the New Year.”

The ECMS will meet at 6:30 p.m. at Christ the King, at 480 N. Co. Hwy. 393, one-half mile north of Hwy. 98. The meeting, open free to the public, will include 20-30 minutes of silent meditation.

Many of us live in a world of busyness and multi-tasking. This presentation will explore how mindfulness practices can ground us despite our hectic surroundings. We’ll discuss not only how to create, but also sustain a mindfulness practice throughout the year. Make a new year's resolution that can support you all year long.

Pat Carlyle is a Mindfulness Meditation teacher in Santa Rosa Beach. She began her meditation practice over 40 years ago and is dedicated to offering the teachings of spiritual practices that awaken our natural wisdom and compassion. She holds her M.Ed in Psychoeducational Processes and Organizational Development. Pat taught executive education and strategic planning in Fortune 500 companies prior to her move to the beach in 2002. She now has a successful real estate practice and is an avid outdoorswoman.

The ECMS is an ecumenical group open free to anyone. It meets on the first and third Thursdays of the month, September through June. The evening will end around 8 p.m. Anyone who would like meditation instruction should come at 6:15 p.m. Questions? Contact Tracey Tapp, tltapp@cox.net.
