Fonville Press at Alys Beach to Host Sister Schubert Book Signing
Proceeds from "Cast Your Bread Upon The Waters" To Benefit Ukrainian Orphans

Alys Beach, Florida - (November 17, 2009) - Patricia "Sister" Barnes, founder of Sister Schubert's Homemade Rolls, will be signing copies of her second cookbook, "Cast Your Bread Upon the Waters," at Fonville Press at Alys Beach on Saturday, November 28, from noon until 2 p.m.

The glossy 180-page coffee-table cookbook reveals some of Barnes most treasured and tempting recipes for every day meals and special occasions. She intertwines her recipes with charming anecdotes and a personal narrative of how she, as a single mother of two, began a home-based business that grew to become the thriving company it is today.

"I have been dreaming of creating this cookbook for a long time," said Barnes. "Readers will not only find some of my favorite, prized family recipes, but they will also learn my story while gaining insight and inspiration for becoming successes in their own kitchens, families or businesses."

The Barnes Family Foundation, created in 2001 by Barnes and her husband George, was the beneficiary of the Second Annual Change the World Fundraiser held in 2007 around the new Caliza Pool at Alys Beach. The fundraiser, founded by Gina Shiflett, owner of Salon Twist, raised the money specifically to establish Sasha's Home, an orphanage in Gorlovka, Ukraine.

Sasha's Home will also be the primary beneficiary of net proceeds from Cast Your Bread Upon the Waters. An alternative to overcrowded state institutions, Sasha's Home provides a warm and loving temporary home for 40 abandoned children while they await adoption by their "forever families."

"The Alys Beach community is honored to be hosting Sister Schubert again," said Kelli Arnold, Alys Beach's Events Coordinator. "Not only do we get to experience culinary art through her delicious recipes, but we are also afforded the unique opportunity to continue our support for her efforts in the Ukraine."

Visitors are also invited to join in on a walking tour of the courtyard homes in Alys Beach from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. For further information concerning these events, please visit www.alysbeach.com, www.castyourbreaduponthewaters.com or call 850-213-5906.
