The Sinfonia Youth Orchestra is officially ready to kick off a new season! Membership is now open to advanced student musicians grades 6th-12th playing string, percussion, brass and woodwind instruments.

The Sinfonia Youth Orchestra program is the premier training orchestra in Northwest Florida and consists of more than 50 students who participate in a variety of ensembles that perform throughout the school year in one of two ensembles: The Sinfonietta Strings of the Sinfonia Youth Orchestra.
Sinfonietta String’s membership is open to developing string players, with at least two years of lessons, or recommendations from their music teachers. Sinfonietta Strings is a training program to prepare the musicians to move up to the full orchestra. Weekly rehearsals will begin on Sunday, August 27 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Band Room of Choctawhatchee High School on Racetrack Road in Fort Walton Beach.
The Sinfonia Youth Orchestra — under the director of Music Director Liz Aylor — is a full orchestra of more than 40 talented young musicians ranging in age from 6th to 12th Grade. Advanced String, Woodwind, Brass and Percussionists make up the core of the Orchestra. Membership is now open to any qualified musician. Weekly rehearsals for the Sinfonia Youth Orchestra will begin on Sunday, August 27 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Band Room at Choctawhatchee High School on Racetrack Road in Fort Walton Beach.
Participation in either youth group requires a membership fee of $125 for the Fall term. The Sinfonietta Strings and Sinfonia Youth Orchestra perform annual Fall and Spring concerts at the Grace Lutheran Church in Destin. The Sinfonia Youth Orchestra program is sponsored by Sinfonia Gulf Coast — which was founded in 2005 on Florida’s Northwest Gulf Coast with the mission of redefining the symphony experience — and is supported by individual contributions.

Under the guidance of founder and Music Director Demetrius Fuller and a dedicated board of directors, the nonprofit orchestra is in its 12th season of innovative musical programming, designed to entertain, educate and inspire the community. Since it’s founding, Sinfonia Gulf Coast has presented more than 475 concerts and events, has collaborated with numerous nonprofits and businesses throughout the community and has reached more than 100,000 children through its Sinfonia Guest Artists in the Schools program/music education outreach initiatives.
