This full time position will be responsible for all phases of the accounting department including AP/AR/Payroll/General Ledger & Financials.

The ideal candidate works well in a team environment, performs quality work at a fast pace, is capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, and possesses professional written and verbal communication skills. Additional qualities of the ideal candidate are solid business acumen, sound business instincts as well as successful experience in high-pressure environments.

Job Description:

The Controller will manage and coordinate all activities in accounting and other related finance functions of the company. The individual will assure reliable record keeping for all business transactions of the company. The Controller will safeguard the company's assets by developing and maintaining appropriate internal control procedures and will provide business decision support to senior management.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for cash and all related assets, ensuring controls are in place and exercised
  • Coordinate and manage required financial audits
  • Ensure timely and accurate budget analysis and financial review for senior management team and owners
  • Create, maintain and manage department budgets
  • Provide timely and accurate weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
  • Recommend and develop policies, procedures and systems to meet company objectives
  • Implement and track company compensation plan
  • Process real estate sales commission checks
  • Recommend efforts to improve ROI performance
    Maintain banking and other financial relationships
  • Stay abreast of trends and regulations to ensure compliance
  • Align financial policies and procedures with company objectives
  • Establish and maintain financial reporting systems and controls to ensure compliance with company expenditure requirements
  • Assess company needs with regard to risk management and secure appropriate coverage
  • Other duties as assigned
Experience, Skills and Education:
  • Bachelor degree in accounting or finance preferred
  • 5+ Years of accounting experience
  • Experience with real estate brokerage accounting preferred
  • Should have strong analytical problem solving skills
  • Ability to strategically plan ahead for up to a 2 year time span
  • Ability to organize and prioritize
  • A sense of urgency coupled with a high level if initiative and drive
  • Possess technical skills and mastery of Quickbooks
  • Experience in financial reporting and analysis, as well as, cash flow management
