Cultural Arts Recipients Give Back

CULTURAL ARTS GRANT RECIPIENTS GIVE BACK​

Local teachers and aspiring artists benefit each year from generous grants made possible by the Cultural Arts Association, and on February 10th the public is invited to attend a special presentation by two grant recipients, Jerry Pilcher and Ellen Saunders, as they share examples of art produced as a result of the grants.

Jerry Pilcher, South Walton High School art teacher, was the 2007 recipient of a Teacher Mini-Grant, a grant that enables teachers and students to work on special projects that are normally not funded. Ellen Saunders, a writer and poet, was the recipient of an Adult Education Grant, through which the CAA shows support for life-long learning. Saunders will share with the audience her experiences in Taos, New Mexico, and will read some of her poetry.

This program will take place on Sunday, February 10th from 3:00 ? 4:00pm at the Coastal Branch Library at 336 Loop Road off Highway 331. The event is free of charge, and refreshments will be served.
