DeFuniak Springs
DEFUNIAK SPRINGS, Fla. – The City of DeFuniak Springs Municipal Airport will now be the corporate headquarters of ONVOI Global Services (OGS), a company which provides aviation and administrative support services to various government agencies. Corporate officials anticipate a growth of 20-25 new jobs in the area within the next two years.

“This is a great day for the City of DeFuniak Springs and Walton County,” says Airport Director Ryan Adams. “ONVOI Global Services locating to DeFuniak Springs represents the onset of an emerging industry in our City. The outpouring of support from the community, along with the coordinated efforts of City Council and the Mayor, were vital in achieving this success.”

OGS’s aviation services include manned and unmanned aircraft flight operations, maintenance, logistical support, training, range support, aerial surveillance, and repair operations. The company also provides a variety of office administrative support services to include mail room, military transition assistance, training, clerical support for identification processing, etc. In addition to aviation services, OGS has plans to establish a FAA Part 141 flight school during late Spring of 2018. The school will offer private, commercial, instrument, and multiengine training.

With over 80 employees spread-out across the United States, DeFuniak Springs will serve as home base for the growing company where project managers will administer the company’s 11 U.S. Department of Defense contracts along with the support of human resource and administrative staff. "Our strategy is to grow along with airport over the course of the next 5 years,” says Darryl Centanni, president of ONVOI Global Services, Inc. “As new facilities are constructed and the runway receives the much-needed extension out to 5,000 ft., we will gradually expand and diversify our range of services," he says.

Centanni says the location of DeFuniak Springs was a major factor in deciding to move OGS’s corporate headquarters to the municipal airport. “We began to look at the Gulf Coast a few years ago as a site to relocate our facilities,” he says. “Our desire was to be near the Florida’s I-10 Corridor. The more we studied the area the more we realized the DeFuniak Springs Airport was an excellent region due to the number of military facilities in the tri-state area and the airport expansion plan developed by the airport advisory committee and approved by the city council. The area has numerous personnel available to meet our employment needs and the airport expansion plans meet our corporate goals to expand our business portfolio to support larger commercial and military aircraft operations. OGS will maintain our office in Mississippi to better service our customers at Columbus Air Force Base,” he says.

Congressman Matt Gaetz adds “the addition of ONVOI Global Services is further evidence Northwest Florida is an emerging hotspot for job growth in the lucrative aviation industry. Our community is filled with an abundance of resources on both civilian and military sides of the ledger. I am beyond excited for DeFuniak Springs to acquire ONVOI Global Services. This acquisition makes for a solid foundation for more development throughout Walton County.”

“It’s was with much excitement and enthusiasm at the June 26 City Council meeting,” says DeFuniak Springs Mayor Bob Campbell, “that those in attendance welcomed aboard ONVOI Global Services to the DeFuniak Springs Municipal Airport. This business brings great potential to bring jobs, fuel sales, rental income and a DOD presence to our airport. We are looking forward to a prosperous and harmonious relationship with OGS and their team for many years to come,” he says.

Executive Director of the Walton County Economic Development Alliance Bill Imfeld adds ”ONVOI Global Services relocation to DeFuniak Springs is a significant enhancement to the sensible economic development and growth of DeFuniak Springs and the Florida Panhandle.”
