Minimum Qualifications: Expanded Functions for Dental Auxiliary Certification, BLS/CPR
While under supervision of the dentist, assist in rendering chairside duties as required of four handed dentistry. Lay out instruments and materials needed to treat each patient and make patients feel comfortable in the dental chair before and during treatment. Provide oral hygiene instruction to children and parents. Additional duties also include but are not limited to properly applying sealants, coronal polishing, preliminary charting of existing restorations and oral conditions, placing or removing rubber dams, taking dental xrays. Implementation of proper infection control including sterilizing instruments, cleaning and maintaining dental equipment, operatory and hygiene rooms according to OSHA and clinic guidelines. Maintain a well stocked operatory/hygiene room with all necessary supplies and materials.
