PRESS RELEASE
June 13, 2017
The Walton County Taxpayer’s Association will host a candidate forum Monday, June 26, 2017 for all candidates in the upcoming municipal elections on July 11. The event will start at 6:30 PM at the Freeport Community Center and will be open to the public.
WCTA is a county-wide organization dedicated to representing the interests of all the taxpayers of Walton County. One ongoing project of our organization is to provide information to taxpayers so that they may participate in their government and make informed decisions. With that goal in mind we host candidate forums so that citizens are afforded the opportunity to meet their candidates and hear what the candidates see as the key issues and what each candidate proposes to address those issues. Our only goal is to educate the voters and give the platform of each candidate the widest possible audience.
Each candidate will be afforded the opportunity to make an opening and closing statement. Questions will be solicited from the attendees and the press; however, all questions will be screened by the Moderator.
All local media outlets are invited to attend.
Danny Glidewell, President of WCTA said “I encourage all the voters and taxpayers of Freeport to attend and take this opportunity to learn about the candidates and their proposals to address the issues that confront Freeport today.”
