Make plans to catch this year's Grit & Grace production July 14-16 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida.
Grit & Grace, Inc., Walton County’s Official Folk Life Production, is proud to announce plans for their upcoming production entitled, ‘Live From The Lake Yard’. The 2017 original play about Walton County's history of radio and people comes to the stage June 14-16 at Walton High School Auditorium.
This year’s play is once again lead by the dynamic duo, Ronnie McBrayer and Brandon Elkins, who have teamed up to bring us the last two years of Grit & Grace productions. Ronnie, as the play write, and Brandon, as the director, worked together to bring us last years critically acclaimed “Down by the Riverside” and the 2015 hit “Wild, Wild Walton”!
“This years show is a change from our normal way of doing things.” says Elkins.
“The flow of this year’s show is completely different than any show we have done in the past. We are using a different form of narration with the introduction of Leonard Zepp and Stephanie King as our On-Air Personalities. We plan to keep the audience involved from beginning to end.” Brandon’s goal has been to make the show feel new and different each year, while honoring the organization’s past and history, and he promises to do it once again this year.
“Every year we have introduced little things to change up the show, while trying to honor the past, this year we will continue on that same path.” he says.
“This year we have minimalized the set to be able to allow a smooth flowing transition between scenes and also to allow our characters stories to speak for themselves. Overall the cast, the Board of Directors, and myself are so excited to share this year’s production with everyone. We look forward to presenting this show to our audience while preserving the amazing history of Walton County radio!"
Grit & Grace, Inc., is a 501(c) 3 non-profit community based theater group, comprised of local volunteers, whose mission and purpose is to preserve the history of Greater Walton County through storytelling, music, and dance.
Live From The Lake Yard production dates are Friday, July 14th at 7:00 pm; Saturday, July 15th at 7:00 pm; and Sunday, July 16th at 2:00 pm at the Walton High School Auditorium in DeFuniak Springs.
Tickets are available at the door for $15, and $12 for children 12 and under. Tickets may also be purchased at the following ticket outlets: Nook & Cranny, National Tire Brokers, and McLean’s Florist in DeFuniaks Springs and Emerald Coast Flowers and Gifts in Freeport.
