In fairness to 30A the reason for the question follows;
We've just been made aware that businesses and individuals have until TOMORROW – Tuesday, Oct. 31 – to submit a brief application outlining their transformative ideas to potentially be funded with BP Gulf Coast TRIUMPH funds.
The ideas must meet certain criteria including that the funds cannot go to a singular entity – they must be a public-private partnership that improves lives across Walton County.
APPLICATION INFO:
www.co.walton.fl.us/1217/Local-TRIUMPH-Committee
On Nov. 1, the Walton County Triumph Committee will meet to adopt and recommend applications to the Walton County Board of County Commission. The County Commission will meet on Nov. 7 to review and approve the applications before sending them on to the State TRIUMPH Committee in Tallahassee.
The State TRIUMPH Committee has stated that it will require additional information before awarding the final grants. They have also stated, however, that the goal is to award the grants before Dec. 31, 2017.
This is the first disbursement of the BP settlement that committed special funds to eight Gulf Coast counties affected by the BP Oil Spill. This initial fund is $300 million. There will be more disbursements in the future from the $1.5 billion settlement.
My answer however is the same...get rid of C. Jones and the quality of life for Walton County Citizens will improve dramatically.
