This young man is my grandson. Last night at the Fort Walton Beach High School track banquet the coaches started a new award called the "Harrison Jourdan Perseverance Award" that will be given each year to a runner that has some obstacle to overcome or manage. It is to honor the way Harrison has dealt with the challenges of being a Type 1 diabetic during his four years as a distance runner at FWB High School. Harrison was diagnosed at eight years of age.
