If anyone is in the area of Legion Park in Miramar Beach check out the two new arbor swings facing the bay built by Harrison Jourdan of Troop 504 for his Eagle Scout Service Project. Well done.

This young man is my grandson. Last night at the Fort Walton Beach High School track banquet the coaches started a new award called the "Harrison Jourdan Perseverance Award" that will be given each year to a runner that has some obstacle to overcome or manage. It is to honor the way Harrison has dealt with the challenges of being a Type 1 diabetic during his four years as a distance runner at FWB High School. Harrison was diagnosed at eight years of age.

Here is a picture of Harrison receiving the award with head coach Lissette Fields.
