Sweetbay Montessori, a New Elementary School Serving South Walton Will Launch in the School Year 2018

Sweetbay Montessori ready for enrollment now

Santa Rosa Beach, FL—(February 5, 2018) Sweetbay Montessori will open in August 2018 and is now open for enrollment. This new private Montessori school offers a lower elementary program for students ages 6-9 (grades 1-3) in its first year, with plans to expand as needed. The Sweetbay Montessori campus location will be announced this Spring.

Sweetbay Montessori School, an authentic Montessori school for students of diverse backgrounds, provides an educational environment that cultivates independence, self-confidence, leadership and innovative thinking.

Sweetbay Montessori originated when the Tree House Episcopal Montessori School decided to refine their focus on the preschool program, and discontinue their 1-3 elementary grades. A group of parents and teachers from the existing Treehouse elementary class worked together to create this new school, with the support of The Tree House.

It is estimated that South Walton’s current population of 30,000 full time residents will double in the next five years. Now, more than ever, there is a crucial need for more educational options. Sweetbay Montessori will fullfil the need for more quality schools in our county.

Theresa Joyce, an American Montessori Society (AMS) certified teacher, has led the lower elementary class at The Tree House for the past three years. Ms. Joyce will be the lead teacher and head of school at Sweetbay Montessori with 17 years of teaching experience.

Sweetbay Montessori’s Mission:
Sweetbay Montessori School, an authentic Montessori school for students of diverse backgrounds, provides an educational environment that cultivates independence, self-confidence, leadership and innovative thinking.
