An opportunity is anticipated for a self-motivated, hardworking individual to provide visitor services, maintenance, interpretation, administration, and park protection, to fill an OPS Park Ranger position at Camp Helen State Park on the west end of Panama City Beach, FL.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Visitor Services – Explains facilities and services provided for public use, enjoyment and education; meets visitors, answers questions, provides information and directions. Attempts to resolve visitor complaints while maintaining good public relations.
Maintenance - Responsible for janitorial cleaning and maintenance of all park facilities, including restrooms, rental cabins, playgrounds, campsites, office buildings, pavilions, and grills. Maintains, and repairs small buildings, fences, trails, service roads, boardwalks, picnic sites, and all other necessary facilities.
Administration - Prepare forms and reports on a minimal range of subjects including fees, honor receipts, daily vehicle usage, etc... Answer telephone, operate POS cash register system and maintain logs.
Protection - Ensures park rules are enforced pertaining to all natural, historical and archaeological facilities and resources and use thereof for enjoyment of the visitor.
Performs related work as required.

- Assist with the maintenance and minimal repair of facilities, buildings, trails and boardwalks.
- Ability to assist in maintaining park grounds.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds.
- Ability to work outdoors.
- Able to work a rotating schedule.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Knowledge and skill in computer use
- Ability to develop and maintain files on research, monitoring and other activities.
- Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license.
