In his new book, Mike Blackstone – NIS Special Agent, Assignment: Naples, Italy, Craig Elliott draws on his career as a Special Agent with the Naval Investigative Service.

The Coastal Branch Library is hosting a Meet and Greet with the author on Monday, January 29 at 10:30am. Lt. Elliott will talk about the exploits of his fictional character and some of the real life situations on which they are based.

Author Craig Elliott, a retired US Navy Intelligence Officer from Southport, North Carolina will talk about his book Mike Blackstone, NIS Special Agent, Assignment: Naples, Italy. NIS (Naval Investigative Service) was the forerunner to NCIA (Naval Criminal Investigative Service). Mike Blackstone, NIS Special Agent is a fictional account based on actual cases and events in the life of a Naval Intelligence Officer who is assigned as a NIS Special Agent in Naples.

The story travels through the main character’s early life in the US Navy, the trials and tribulations of living in Italy and the dangerous encounters he faces as a NIS Special Agent.
