Get your grouper sandwich fix now, while you still can... October 29 is coming up fast, and it’s the last week Seagrove Village MarketCafe will be open at its current location. The historic Market and bona fide SoWal icon is being torn down to make way for the next phase of development at the V seagrove hotel project in the works for years.

It's not goodbye. It's see you soon...
“It’s a great place and it’s touched a lot of lives and it has good juju and we hope to bring that to the new location,” says Ann.

Longtime owners George and Ann Hartley plan to reopen nearby after approval and construction. The new building will resemble the old market to provide continuity. But the old market needs to go out in style so a sendoff party is in the works at the end of October when everyone will have a chance to say goodbye and share their stories.

Only a few days left to get over and enjoy some deep fried love before the vintage Seagrove Beach restaurant closes and is torn down. The building along with two others nearby will come down as they belong to the Viridian project which was started several years ago with the first phase - V Seagrove restaurant. Many are very sad to lose the historic Seagrove Market and Cafe's original location and building. We've long known that the building is on its way out, and now the time has come. According to owners, the building is on its last leg and really can't continue to serve as a restaurant/market or business in any capacity regardless of the situation.

Plans are in the works for a new restaurant just north of the current location on Hwy 395 (near Regions Bank).

The new Seagrove Village Market Cafe will include the same great food and many of the historic elements and characteristics that make it unique. Though of course, it will not be the same. No doubt, it will still be very special and in time will become that special place we love to eat grouper sandwiches and hang out with our families. So many friends, locals and visitors have stories about their connection to the Market, and are willing to follow it anywhere it may go. Stay tuned for news about Seagrove Village Market Cafe and its plans to open in 2016.

We’d love for you to join us for our celebration of the Seagrove Village MarketCafe’s 66th year, on its last day in business at our current location. As you know, the “Market” has been a part of 30A’s history since 1949. We are moving it just down Highway 395, and anticipate opening Summer of 2016 in its new location. We’re so appreciative of our sweet customers and friends and the love everyone has shown us since we bought the Seagrove Village MarketCafe in 1999. Although we are sad to see this location go, we’re excited about our new spot! Everyone will know it as the same great place—we’re taking the famous booths, the worn out sales counter and of course the great yummy food will stay exactly the same.

Join us Thursday, October 29th from 12 -6 for fun reminiscing and your last grouper sandwich for awhile. We look forward to having you join us!
