Seaside School Half Marathon & 5K: Sunday, March 4, 2018 Register at www.RunSeasideFL.com This is one of the most anticipated weekends of the year in South Walton, Florida. For the 16th year we celebrate this out-and-back, fast and mostly flat course where runners from all over the US pass quaint beach towns, dune lakes, and the world's most beautiful beaches. All proceeds benefit the Seaside School Foundation. Let the weekend festivities begin! Around 4,000 people from 40 states are coming to SoWal Beaches to participate in the race in 2018! Thousands of friends and families will be cheering from the sidelines along the Scenic Hwy 30A race course. The race starts early Sunday morning in Seaside and the course continues west along Scenic 30A through WaterColor, over Western Lake in Grayton Beach, through Blue Mountain Beach to Gulf Place, and then back to Seaside. The race weekend offers three days of exciting events for everyone including runners, visitors, locals and volunteers. There are some great events leading up to race day which are open to everyone. Taste of the Race with Chef Emeril Lagasse kicks off the weekend on Friday evening under the tent at the Seaside Lyceum. Saturday's Race Expo & Silent Auction Expo is one big party all afternoon. Sunday is race day followed by a post-race party with live music. Registration opens August 16! The race is USATF certified, and will start and finish in downtown Seaside. From Seaside, the racers will run West along scenic Highway 30A, past the beach towns of Watercolor, Grayton, Blue Mountain Beach, and Santa Rosa Beach, with the halfway point and turnaround at Gulf Place. Please use caution throughout the race course. Volunteers and police will monitor the cross traffic at all intersections, as much as possible. Volunteers and community groups will line the race course to cheer you on and provide entertainment. 5K: The course is fast and flat. The race will start and finish in downtown Seaside.
