The Walton County Genealogy Society will host a series of lessons on how to get started in geneology on Saturday, April 11, 2009, board member Wayne Sconiers (waynesconiers@hughes.net) announced. The WalCo Genealogy Society meets the second Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Walton County Heritage Museum, 1140 Circle Drive, DeFuniak Springs, FL.
Wayne said "We will cover the methods for gathering your historical data, how to record it and how to share it with others. We will show you how to make it exciting by putting in pictures and voice. We will use Family Tree Maker 2006 for discussion, but you can take this information and apply it to Family Tree Maker 2009 and most other genealogy programs. Get a friend to come with you."
