Walton County Antiques Day
Highlights Cars, Tractors and Pioneer Living
Saturday, March 16, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

DeFuniak Springs, FL...Hundreds of families are expected to turn out for the annual Walton County Antiques Day celebration on Saturday, March 16 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Walton County Fairgrounds in DeFuniak Springs. The six hour event highlights the history of Walton County through tractor pull demonstrations, an antique car show and historical displays by various organizations and families relating to Walton County life.

According to Walton County Fair Association Manager Randall Infinger, the 2013 Antiques Day celebration will include a Florida Frontiersmen Settlement display exhibited through a small camp. "We're real excited to see this event grow to this level," says Infinger. "Families are really going to enjoy this living history display showing what life was like during the pioneer days on the Florida Panhandle." The settlement camp will be exhibited by Kevin and Barbara Chilcutt and their sons as part of the Frontiersmen Camping Fellowship (FCF). This fellowship is a ministry to boys and men operating under the theme of the Frontiersmen from the late 1700s to about 1840, the time of the last great rendezvous. They plan to cook skillet bread and share with guests.

The celebration begins at 9:00 with a tractor pull followed by a kiddie tractor pull at noon. The antique car show also begins at 9:00 a.m. and includes judging and trophies for original and modified classes sponsored by the Chautauqua Cruisers along with a history fair of photographs and memorabilia displayed by churches, clubs, schools, businesses, event organizers and families.

Admission is $5 for ages 7 and up. Kids six and under admitted free. Food and beverages will be available for an additional charge. Funds raised through admission will benefit the Walton County Fair and Walton County Heritage Associations.

The Walton County Fairgrounds are located at 790 Highway 83 North. For more information, call 850-892-5261.
