Alys Beach 5K Fun Run Takes Off AUG 31

Lace up your running shoes! The 3rd Annual Alys Beach 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run will take off AUG 31. The race course winds through the resort town located along Hwy 30A and features an oversized obstacle course for kids of all ages. The race ends at the Alys Beach Amphitheatre where participants will enjoy an awards presentation, music, food, and beverages.
The price to participate in the certified 5K is $35 and the 1 Mile Fun Run for children 12 and under is $15. The Alys Beach 5K is limited to 400 participants and the 1 Mile Fun Run is limited to 150 participants.
The Alys Beach 5K begins at 7am and the 1 Mile Fun Run begins at 8:30am in the Amphitheatre. Runners should arrive 30 minutes early upon the day of the race. Packet pick up time is AUG 30 at Fonville Press from 10am-2pm, or AUG 31 at 6am at the Alys Beach Amphitheatre. Advanced registration closes AUG 29. If any race registrations remain, they will be sold on AUG 30 from 10am-2pm for $50 for the 5K and $25 for the 1 Mile Fun Run.
Proceeds from the race will benefit the Autism Society on behalf of The Alys Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports community, environmental, cultural, and educational programs at Alys Beach, as well as nonprofit organizations in the greater Walton County community.
The Alys Beach 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run Awards Presentation will begin at 9:15am in the Alys Beach Amphitheatre. Awards Categories include:
Overall Male and Female for 5K and 1 Mile
Male and Female in 1 Mile: Ages 5 & under, 6-9, 10-12
Male and Female in 5K: Ages 20 & under, 21+
The Awards Ceremony will feature music by Shane from Rock The House, beverages from Grayton Beer, and a raffle of John Starkey’s artwork. Additional beverages will be available at Piper’s.
- T-shirts will be provided with each registration.
- No dogs or strollers are allowed in the race.
- Parking is available along the slip roads that run parallel to 30A, or as directed.
- Water will be provided.
- The Course runs through the Nature Trail and is not entirely paved.
