Announcing Our SoWal Insiders for the 30A Songwriters Festival Contest

January 9, 2012 by SoWal Staff

Here are our picks from the SoWal Insider contest for the 30A Songwriters Festival. We got so many incredible entries and we'd like to thank everyone who told us why they would be the best choice. We wish we could work with all of you!

Congratulations to our winners who will receive a pair of media passes, a brand-new waterproof video camera, and dinner at one of our festival venues. We'll be sharing video online from their exciting, fun and unique perspectives.

SoWal Insider Jaxon Hardy - Our Local Festival Correspondent. Jaxon works at Camp Creek Golf Club, He and his wife drafted grandparents to keep the kids while they spend the weekend at WaterColor Inn and Resort.

SoWal Insider Dale Forrester, Chickamauga, GA. - Our National Festival Correspondent. You can get to know Dale a bit from his website - he's already got a post up about being a SoWal Insider - http://livingmydays.com/post/15447306787 - give him a shout.

In addition, we received an entry from Elaine Parrett, who teaches journalism at the Seaside Neighborhood School. She wanted to win so her students could gain some real-world experience. We thought that was a great opportunity we couldn't pass up so so we're sending them out with media passes and a camera of their own which they can keep for future projects. In addition, our SoWal Music Editor Danny Burns who volunteers at 30A Radio which is run by the school, will assist the students in conducting some live artist interviews on the air.

We are thrilled that local SoWal musician and festival perfomer Kelsey Anna has also generously agreed to help us out by documenting some of her experience as a true "festival insider" - it doesn't get more authentic than that!

Stay tuned for all the fun and inside info! We'll keep you updated throughout the week, and during and after the festival weekend.
