Art in the Park at WaterColor Mar 18
March 8, 2017 by SoWal Staff
A sure sign Spring has sprung is the return of Art in the Park held at WaterColor's town center each March. The 12th annual edition is just off Scenic 30A on Saturday, March 18 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
WaterColor is the ideal backdrop for the open-air art festival where visitors and locals are invited to spend the day exploring a wide spectrum of art, enjoying live music, socializing over a fun beverage and bite to eat or just relaxing in the park. More than 80 artists from all over will showcase their works throughout the park and town center on Saturday. You'll find works of art from many gentres including paintings, charcoal, chalk, photography, glass, jewelry, custom furniture, pottery, wood, fashion and much more.
Art in the Park will feature live music by Schatzi + The String Boffin, Kyle LaMonica, Chris Alvarado and Aaron Wolfe.
Artists will be traveling from all over the Southeast to showcase their work at Art in the Park, and it’s no wonder as South Walton is quickly becoming a creative hot-spot attracting artists of all mediums to be a part of the scene.
Art in the Park is truly a favorite local festival every Spring in SoWal. Cerulean Park is the centerpiece of Art in the Park and art lovers appreciate the display of unique artwork among live oaks, flowering gardens, and a watercourse through the park with footbridges and benches for resting. You can explore some of the trails off the beaten path, explore the BoatHouse, or take the footbridge over to more remote places along the shores of Western Lake. What a wonderful time of year for art and music in one of the most beautiful places in South Walton, Florida.
Art in the Park is hosted by the WaterColor Community Association, and is free and open to the public. Stop in and visit WaterColor Merchants for some of the best shopping around, have lunch at Wine World or have a respite in the Wine Bar. After the festival, you may enjoy relaxing at The Gathering Place for an appetizer, sushi or cocktails. Or make reservations for more upscale dining at Fish Out of Water on the Gulf of Mexico.
Follow Art in the Park on Facebook for updates on this year's event, live music and more.
