July 1, 2015 by SoWal Staff

Café Thirty-A created the Lucky Dog Martini almost a year ago to raise money for Alaqua Animal Refuge, a local non-profit no kill shelter that serves Northwest Florida. One dollar from every Lucky Dog sold goes to support Alaqua.

Harriet Crommelin, who is always looking for ways to contribute to the South Walton community, owns the Seagrove Beach restaruant.

“We love doing anything we can to help support Alaqua. They do so much for our community and we believe in their mission,” said Harriet.

In 10 short months, the Lucky Dog Martini raised $1,221 in funds to help with the care of the animals at Alaqua and Café Thirty-A plans to continue the Lucky Dog fundraiser. Catherine Rodriguez, Community Relations Director at Alaqua, accepted the check from Harriet on Tuesday and was extremely grateful for the donation. Updates on funds raised will be announced every few months.
