Caliza Goes Pink in October

October 7, 2014 by SoWal Staff

To support the fight against breast cancer, Alys Beach kicks off Caliza Goes Pink for the month of October. Chef Kevin Korman’s delectable five-course tasting menu prepared with ultimate cancer-fighting ingredients will be available Tuesday through Saturday, 5:30 p.m. -10:00 p.m. at Caliza Restaurant. Also, Fonville Press will showcase two specialty drinks throughout the month. A portion of the dinner and beverage proceeds will be donated to Sacred Heart of the Emerald Coast Cancer Center and Susan G. Komen Foundation.

“Our goal is to raise awareness and funding for breast cancer research,” said Chef Korman. “Breast cancer affects thousands of women each year, and it is very rewarding to come together with the community to raise money toward fighting the disease. My mother is a survivor and I have a vested interest in making Caliza Goes Pink a huge success.”

“The Caliza Experience” raffle extends Alys Beach’s commitment to this cause by offering a three-night stay in a three bedroom Alys Beach home, a five-course dinner with wine pairing at Caliza Restaurant for six, three-day bike rentals for six, $40 gift certificate for Fonville Press, a private shopping experience for up to six people with champagne and $400 shopping credit to the Alys Shoppe, a Slow and Low Coastal Outfitters kayak fishing trip for two and two tickets to the 30A Wine Festival at Alys Beach. Raffle tickets are $25 for one ticket, $100 for five tickets, $250 for fifteen tickets and can be purchased at the Alys Shoppe, the Bike Shop, Caliza Restaurant, and Fonville Press. Chef Korman will draw the winner on November 3rd, 2014. Winner need not be present to win. All raffle proceeds will be donated to Sacred Heart Cancer Center Emerald Coast Services and Susan G. Komen Foundation, Maryland Affiliate.

A Rose' Wine Tasting will be held at Fonville Press on Oct. 9 from 5-7pm.
