Flutterby Arts Festival at Rosemary Beach Nov 14-15

November 4, 2015 by SoWal Staff

The Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County (CAA) is calling all kids to flitter to the SoWal beach town of Rosemary Beach for the annual Flutterby Arts Festival on Saturday, Nov. 14 and Sunday, Nov. 15,  from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day on the East Long Green.

Produced by the CAA, sponsored by SoWal.com, and presented by The Merchants of Rosemary Beach, The Flutterby Festival is a two-day event filled with arts, nature, science and fun in celebration of the migration of the Monarch butterfly through South Walton.

The festival features live entertainment for the entire family, including music, theatre, dance and The Magical Metamorphis Show. Art activities like the butterfly wing creation station, craft-making and face-painting are available all weekend. Kids can also enjoy a hula hoop contest, butterfly plant learning center, carnival games, bounce houses and a butterfly parade at the end of each day. Flutterby entertainment will be provided by Emerald Coast Middle School Color Guard, 30A Dancewave, Emerald Coast Theatre Company, Ohana Records, 30A Ballet, The Rep Theatre and Seaside Neighborhood School.

Professional artists will be exhibiting and selling their work throughout the weekend, and official Flutterby merchandise featuring butterfly art winner and 3rd grader Carly Coleman will be available for purchase.  New this year to the festival will be dog adoptions through Dog Harmony.

Rosemary Beach is full of food and beverage options, and Restaurant Paradis will be on site selling fresh crepes made to order. Admission to the festival is free and open to the public.  Some activities within the festival require tickets, which can be purchased on site.  Volunteers are needed to help create all the fun. Please email renee@culturalartsalliance to be a part of the team. For more information, visit www.Culturalartsalliance.com or call 850-622-5970.

The Flutterby Festival is presented by The Merchants of Rosemary Beach and sponsored in part by the Rosemary Beach Property Owners Association, Sowal.com and Clay Garden & Pottery.
