Gulf Front Breakfast is Superb at Fish Out Of Water

October 6, 2015 by Sarah Robertson

Wake up SoWal food lovers and get over to Fish Out of Water at the WaterColor Inn for a very special gulf front breakfast. It's the perfect way to start a beautiful beach day, or the perfect spot to linger over Sunday brunch complete with a mimosa (or two!). SoWal staffers recently enjoyed a stellar morning meal at the award winning restaurant overlooking the Gulf of Mexico and what a feast!

If you have a morning hunger, try the Poached Eggs Florentine with lemon scented creamed spinach or their Three Little Pigs Omelet comprised of decadent smoked ham, braised pork belly and Andouille sausage.

Can’t choose what to order? Do it up and select the Traditional Southern Breakfast. This masterpiece includes two eggs, choice of Applewood smoked bacon or jumbo link sausage as well as choice of creamy grits or crispy caramelized onion gouda potatoes and of course a house made biscuit!

Or go with healthier menu choices like Muesli composed of oats, almonds, and fresh fruit or their warming Steel Cut Oatmeal spiced with cinnamon and served with walnuts and golden raisins.

Fish Out of Water’s Huevos Rancheros are a thing of beauty as well with two eggs, queso fresco, black beans, corn tortilla strips, tomatillo salsa, cooling sour cream and fresh pico de gallo all meld together perfectly. This is the breakfast to order for Mexican food lovers.

If you have a sweet tooth and crave dessert for breakfast, the Crispy Vanilla French Toast is a must .This dish starts with buttery grilled Challah bread topped with vanilla cinnamon custard and is finished with bright berries and banana. Another seasonal treat you can’t miss are the Pumpkin Crepes. These warm, tender pumpkin-cream filled crepes just feel like fall is here with their candied pecans and spiced syrup. Yum!
Fish Out of Water features an a la carte breakfast menu daily between 8:00 am and 11:00 am. A popular grand buffet option is available from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

And did you know here in our little slice of paradise is one of only eleven restaurants in the state of Florida to achieve a Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star rating? Fish Out of Water is the proud recipient of such an esteemed accreditation. The award winning restaurant, helmed by Corporate Executive Chef Todd Rogers, is also a recipient of Florida Trend’s Golden Spoon Award as well as Wine Spectator Award of Excellence
