Sandestin Gumbo Festival Spices It Up Feb 12-13, 2016

Come join all SoWal gumbo lovers for the 2016 Annual Sandestin Gumbo Festival! It's one of the very best events of the entire year in South Walton, FL! What a great time tasting gumbo all around the Village of Baytowne Wharf, listening to live Zydeco music and having a cocktail. Visitors and gumbo-lovers from across the Southeast are expected to join in the festivities during the extended Presidents Day weekend. 

​Prepare your palette while restaurants and businesses vie for the title of "Area's Best" and other categories for the best gumbo in South Walton! Cast your vote while enjoying live music  and family entertainment in the Village.

Mark your calendars for our official kickoff for the Sandestin Gumbo Festival on Friday night with a Seafood Boil! The fun begins at 4pm. $5/plate.
Saturday, February 13, 2016 starting at 12 p.m. - Sandestin Gumbo Festival Main Event
This winter festival favorite is back for the 27th Annual Sandestin Gumbo Festival. Sample a variety of gumbo and vote your favorite as the “People’s Choice” winner! Dark or light roux? Chicken, sausage or seafood? Celebrity judges will name the “Area’s Best,” and award the most creative set-up as “Best Display.” Gulf coast restaurants will be featured along with live music and children’s activities. 

Live music from Dikki Du and the Zydeco Krewe in the Baytowne Events Plaza in the middle of it all... always a great time dancing to Dikki Du and his Krewe from Louisiana.

Stevie Hall will perform on the Baytowne LIVE Stage from 1-4pm.

Mardi Gras festivities in Sandestin takes place the week leading up to the Gumbo Festival.

Sandestin Mardi Gras Dog Parade | The Village of Baytowne Wharf
Sunday, Feb. 7, 2pm

The 13th Annual Sandestin Mardi Gras Dog Parade is Sunday, Feb. 7 at 2:00 p.m. This year's theme is Bark n' Roll. Celebrate an iconic era of music as Rock n' Roll takes on Mardi Gras! Would you like to participate in this year's Bark n' Roll? Register here.

The streets of the Village will be filled with costumed dogs and their humans tossing a myriad of throws, beads and party favors. Themed convertibles, small floats, golf cars, bicycles and decorated wagons will be everywhere and Mardi Gras music will permeate the air! 

14th annual Fat Tuesday Baytowne Bash Parade
Tuesday, February 9

Let your hair down on what is the most festive day of the year around these parts! Fat Tuesday Baytowne Bash Parade happens on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, or Fat Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday. Register to participate in the parade!

"Laissez les bon temps rouler" (let the good time rol) with the 14th Annual Fat Tuesday Baytowne Bash Parade as it winds through The Village of Baytowne Wharf. Yell "throw me something mister" as unique and colorful floats, golf cars and pic-up trucks roll down the streets and marchers dressed up in their Mardi Gras best shower parade-goers with a barrage of beads, moon pies and other trinkets. 

The post-parade celebration continues into the night with street performers, "throws" tossed from balconies on Main St. and parties at various Baytowne Village establishments.
