Savor The Season at Caliza Nov. 6

The Taylor Haugen Foundation will hold the 5th annual Savor The Season fundraiser at Caliza in Alys Beach on Thursday, November 6 from 5:30 p.m. -8:30 p.m. This culinary experience has grown to become one of the most popular events in South Walton, Florida. Savor the Season features twelve local chefs that showcase their culinary talents with signature dishes, a wine tasting as well as a live and silent auction. In addition, this year’s live entertainment will be provided by national recording artist Michael J. Thomas.
 
The twelve participating restaurants include Seagar’s Prime Steaks & Seafood, Stinky’s Fish Camp, Caliza Restaurant, Restaurant Pardis, V Seagrove, The Marigny, Bake My Day, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, CHL Signature Catering, Culinary Catering 365, Grayton Bar and Grill, and Havana Beach Bar & Grill.
 
The Taylor Haugen Foundation was created to honor the memory of the 15-year-old Niceville High School student who passed away after an injury sustained during a football game on August 30, 2008. Proceeds from Savor the Season help support the Taylor Haugen Foundation’s YESS (Youth Equipment for Sports Safety) Program. 
 
The mission of the YESS Program is to educate and equip middle and high school athletes with the type of new generation, modern abdominal injury protection commonly worn by college and professional athletes but often unknown to our secondary school athletes and their parents. The Taylor Haugen Foundation is the only non-profit in the country specializing in abdominal injury protection for our secondary school athletes. A portion of the funds raised from this event will go toward a first of its kind epidemiology study to gauge the frequency of abdominal injuries in our youth athletes and gain knowledge on how better to protect them.
