Scenes of South Walton Art Reception Oct 17

Back to Nature Festival 2013 begins this week as local artists showcase selected pieces in the Scenes of South Walton Art Show at Hidden Lantern Gallery in Rosemary Beach. The art show opens Oct. 17 with an artists' reception from 5 - 7 p.m. The exhibit is part of an exciting lineup of festival events Oct. 17 - 20.

The work of 22 local artists were selected for this year's show (Western Lake by Peggy Jones shown above).  On display will be 38 pieces of artwork in various mediums reflecting the magnificent natural beauty of South Walton's coastal landscape. The public is invited to the opening reception to meet the artists and view their works up close. Judges Laura Granberry and Catherine Dickson will present Best in Show, Runner Up, and Honorable Mentions. The show which will run from Oct. 17 through Nov. 3 at the Hidden Lantern Gallery. All works on display will be for sale at the opening reception and throughout the show with a portion of the proceeds benefiting South Walton Community Council (SWCC). So come out to the Scenes of South Walton Art opening reception, add to your art collection, support SWCC, and help kick off Back to Nature Festival 2013!

Back to Nature Festival The South Walton Community Council hosts the 12th Annual Back To Nature Festival Oct. 17-20, 2013. The festival is one of our favorites and offers the opportunity for visitors and locals to discover the wonders of our unique coastal environment.

Artists Reception for Scenes of South Walton Art Show: Thursday, Oct. 17 at Hidden Lantern Gallery in Rosemary Beach, 5pm - 7pm. The artshow will feature art inspired by our magnificent Florida coastal landscape. A portion of the proceeds will benefit SWCC. Show ends Nov. 3, 2013.

Opening Night Party: Friday, Oct 18 at Grayt Grounds of Monet Monet. 6 pm – 9 pm.  Live music of the Steenos, food provided by Grayton Beach Catering, and loads of family fun! Bring your own drinks and chairs & join the party!  Cost: $20. 
       
Silent Auction at the Seaside Farmer’s Market: Saturday, Oct 19th 9 am – 5 pm the Seaside Amphitheater. The annual silent auction will be held in conjunction with the Seaside Farmer’s market. Proceeds will help raise funds for the SWCC. Add to your art collection, pick up a vacation stay or a great gift certificate to local shops! Start your holiday shopping early! 

Outdoor Adventures: Saturday & Sunday, Oct 19 – 20 throughout Walton County. Our classic adventures include hiking, biking, boating, kayaking, and riding. Cost: Varies by adventure. See the complete schedule of adventures and register by going to www.SouthWaltonCC.org.
