Seaside Half Marathon & 5K Weekend Events!

February 25, 2015 by Teresa Lischka

Welcome to one of the most anticipated weekend events in South Walton! The Seaside School Half Marathon and 5K Race, presented by Vera Bradley, is coming up on Sunday, Mar. 1, along with some incredible parties and expos leading up to race day.

The run is sold out with around 4,000 people from 40 states coming to SoWal Beaches to participate in the race this year - a record number! Thousands of friends and families will be cheering from the sidelines along the Scenic 30A race course. The race starts early Sunday morning in Seaside and the course continues west along Scenic 30A through WaterColor, over Western Lake in Grayton Beach, through Blue Mountain Beach to Gulf Place, and then back to Seaside.

This year's race weekend is bigger and better than ever! There are some great events leading up to race day which are open to everyone. Taste of the Race with Emeril Lagasse kicks off the weekend on Friday evening, after a meet and greet at Modica Market (get your raffle tix). Saturday's Race Expo & Silent Auction Expo is one big party all afternoon. Sunday is race day followed by a post-race party with live music.

Your support is needed and appreciated! Whether you’re a runner, volunteer, sponsor, or just come for the weekend, you are supporting a fantastic community event. With your commitment of support, you join with all the current partners by investing in the lives of each student at Seaside Neighborhood School and the Seacoast Collegiate High School. Your contributions allow students to have elective classes in gardening, music, art, technology, dance, yearbook, smaller math classes, and an award winning robotics program. Great things are happening at the schools – Thanks to you!

SoWal.com is a proud sponsor of the race and Seaside Neighborhood School year round!
