SoWal Pilates Owner Brittany Rebolledo Receives Her License For Pilates for Buff Bones®

February 27, 2013 by SoWal Staff

SoWal Pilates owner, Brittany Rebolledo, is now licensed as a Pilates for Buff Bones® Instructor, a nationally known fitness class. Rebolledo is the only instructor in Northwest Florida certified to teach the class. She received certification in February from a workshop taught by Rebekah Rotstein, founder of Incorporating Movements in Dallas, Texas.

Pilates for Buff Bones® is a unique, Pilates-based workout that uses bone-strengthening techniques while focusing on alignment and balance. It targets the butt, hips, arms and back, while giving a full body workout. This dynamic one-hour class is adaptable and challenging for people of all levels and safe for those with osteoporosis.

According to the Pilates for Buff Bones® manual, the class seeks to educate the public on safe bone-strengthening strategies and to address the rising epidemic of osteoporosis. It guides those with and without bone loss to avoid dangerous and potentially life-altering fractures. Part of the class structure is specifically focused on the three most vulnerable areas of risk for possible fracture due to bone loss; spine, hip, and wrist. Classes take place in a traditional Pilates mat setting and emphasize balance training to reduce the risk of falls. From young adults trying to build bone mass, middle aged adults, and baby boomers with or without excessive bone loss, attendees of all ages are encouraged to experience the benefits of the class.

“I am excited to now offer Pilates Buff Bones® at the SoWal Pilates studio,” says Rebolledo. “The class is truly unique and challenging. I enjoyed the instructor training process and look forward to making an impact with those that may not have considered pilates before due to conditions of osteoporosis or low bone density. It is my goal to continuously bring new and innovative classes for the South Walton area.”

Pilates for Buff Bones® classes are taught on Mondays at 9:00 am at the SoWal Pilates studio located at 5410 East County Highway 30A, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. Classes are open to the public for $20.00 each, or multiple classes can be purchased in advance in series of five or ten. Class space is limited. Please call 850-534-3040 to reserve your space.
