Summer Is Cool in the Backyard of Love

July 2, 2013 by Jill Tanner

The Back Yard of Love is a beautiful and quaint little hidden gem in Grayton Beach. Situated on the grounds of Hibiscus Coffee & Guesthouse, under a canopy of old, majestic oaks, this cozy spot is the perfect place to enjoy Sunday brunch, a cold mimosa, and some sweet tunes. And boy do they have ‘em lined up in July!

On Sundays Café Hibiscus offers a brunch buffet from 11:00 am to 2:00 p.m. with frittatas, enchiladas, cinnamon roll French toast, biscuits and gravy, and many other additional items, which change each week. Brunch is just $15 for adults and $7 for kids and comes with your choice of coffee, tea, juice, milk, or lemonade.

During every Sunday brunch a local charity is on hand pouring mimosas for donations. Hibiscus supplies champagne and the charity group serves backyard guests, with all donations benefiting their mission. This successful event has helped many local non-profit groups and organizations raise money. So without further ado, here is the lineup of musicians and charities for Sundays in July in The Backyard of Love:

July 7 – Max McCann strums the guitar, playing a beachy, bluesy, jazzy kinda sound while H.E.A.R.T. Animal Rescue serves up mimosas for donations.

July 14 – Chris Alvarado plays his laid-back, mellow rock set while Holy Kidz Camps pours mimosas for donations.

July 21 – Anthony Peebles performs his set of folky, beachy, feel-good music and Rescued Rescuers keep the mimosas flowing for donations.

July 28 – Billy Garrett performs and H.E.A.R.T. Animal Rescue serve mimosas for donations.

August 4 – Miranda Mixon, at age 16, performs her amazing country set while H.E.A.R.T. Animal Rescue pours mimosas once again for much needed donations.

August 11 – Max McCann performs with H.E.A.R.T. Animal Rescue serving mimosas for donations.

Make plans to swing by any given Sunday in July and August before you head to the beach and indulge and delight in the food, drinks, music and atmosphere, if only for a little while. And bring your dog! The Backyard of Love is pet-friendly!
