Time to Chill at Miss Lucille's in Gulf Place

March 14, 2013 by Jill Tanner

If one word could sum up Miss Lucille’s Gossip Parlor, it would be FUN! When owner Sam Moore heard Miss Lucille’s was for sale, he jumped at the opportunity to continue the cool, comfortable tradition. As a long-time patron himself, Sam knew what the place was about and didn’t want someone to come in and change it. He bought it over a year ago and hasn’t looked back.

“I just want this to be a hang out spot where people can be comfortable and have fun,” Sam says.

Miss Lucille’s first opened 12 years ago as one of the first restaurants west of Grayton Beach on Scenic 30A. Sam, a Nashville native, remembers frequenting Miss Lucille’s every year while on vacation. He told me it was always packed with locals and visitors enjoying some relaxing time out of the sun while chitchatting with friends.

“It was just the place where everyone met,” Sam remembers.

Miss Lucille’s offers fresh coffee, muffins, scones, floats, pies, biscuits and gravy, sandwiches, ice cream, and other baked goods. The friendly staff is there to help you and put a smile on your face. The fun and funky atmosphere keeps staff and patrons smiling and happy. Free Wi-Fi is available, as well as inside and outside seating.  Sam Moore has big plans of expanding Miss Lucille’s to include alcohol and an even larger selection of food.

Miss Lucille’s is located in Gulf Place and faces the Gulf of Mexico. It is a great place to bring the family while at the beach or out shopping in Gulf Place. Miss Lucille’s is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. through the season. Chill out and take a minute to chat with friends over a cup of Joe and some fresh-baked goods.
