Williams Backyard Boogie Benefit For Arts In Medicine Sep 20

August 16, 2013 by SoWal Staff

Coming this September to Williams Backyard Boogie is the first annual fundraiser for Arts in Medicine program at Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast. The event will feature the sounds of our very own “true story” cowboy - Bryan Kennedy, Vermont’s Green Mountain Girl - Stephanie Lynn, and the award winning area favorite - the Forrest Williams Band. There will be added preshow antics and improv by the Emerald Coast Theater Company, raffle items donated by local artists and food plates provided by Grayton Beach Catering.

To the uninitiated, the Williams Backyard Boogie is a bring-your-own-drink-and-chair venue.  The best of local and visiting talent can be heard in casual and comfortable outdoor surroundings as the sun slowly dips behind the pines.

The Arts in Medicine program, now in its second year, brings artists of all stripes into the hospital environment to foster healing. Patients, staff and visitors have enjoyed performances and projects provided by many local artists, and through the generous support of the following organizations: Cultural Arts Association, Emerald Coast Theater Company, Escape to Create, Rosemary Beach Foundation, Say the Word Open Mic and Sinfonia Gulf Coast.

So, get off the couch and come celebrate. Show your support for Arts in Medicine at the Backyard Boogie for the Arts. Healing never sounded so good!
