Demetrius Fuller is a proud beach local who is the very embodiment of exceptional talent and generous spirit. His dream was to create a professional orchestra for our community, with an eye toward giving back whenever possible.

Demetrius has succeeded in achieving his main dream, and as the founder of Sinfonia Gulf Coast, he is able to give back to the community through entertainment, education, and inspiration.

 

Calling All Designers & Models for South Walton Fashion Week

South Walton Fashion Week is right around the corner and you can already hear the high heels coming down the runway. Scheduled for October 11-13, 2013, SWFW in Grand Boulevard’s Town Center at Sandestin is calling all aspiring designers and models to apply now through September 3, 2013. Applications must be submitted at swfw.org. Get your application in soon to be a part of the first South Walton Fashion Week!

Sinfonia Gulf Coast Presents Morgan James Oct 10

Sinfonia Gulf Coast enters its eighth season of innovative musical programming on the Emerald Coast with a special performance on Thursday, October 10, featuring Epic Records recording artist Morgan James. She is one of the most sought-after singers on the music scene today, and returns to the Sinfonia stage following her debut at last season’s “Broadway Holiday.”

The Artists At Gulf Place Provide a Hot Spot to Shop

Just behind the large commercial buildings in the town of Gulf Place, a group of diverse South Walton artists have created a fun and funky collection of small shops. Dwight Ward started The Artists at Gulf Place in 1999 and it's become a magnet for locals and beach visitors ever since.

The artists in the group are quite diverse, with eclectic creations and products, displaying unique styles, so consider it a guarantee that there is a little something for every shopper.

Andy Saczynski Chosen Festival of the Arts Poster Competition Winner

Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation's (MKAF) 18th Annual Festival of the Arts Poster Competition has a new winner! Among the many creative entries, Andy Saczynski's design captured the judges’ attention with its vibrant colors, coastal theme and creative design.

"While it was a difficult decision, Andy's piece simply had all the elements of a great poster design and represented the festival's colorful, friendly coastal atmosphere," said Festival of the Arts Poster Judge and Local Artist Cara Roy.

Calling All Artists - One Size Fits All Exhibit at Northwest Florida State College

Your artwork can be included in the next A+Art exhibit displayed at the South Walton Campus of the Northwest Florida State College. The exhibit titled “One Size Fits All” is open to all CAA members!
 

The exhibit will consist of 10x10 wood panels, all for sale at $100.  You can purchase your two panels at the CAA offices at Bayou Arts Center, Monday through Friday from 8:30-3:30 p.m.; call 850-622-5970 for more information. The panels are $5 each and there is a limit of two panels per artist. More may be offered later, but they're rationing for now.
 

Children's Art Workshops at Bayou Arts Center July 16-18

Allow the artist within your child to thrive at the Bayou Arts Center! This summer, the Cultural Arts Alliance will host youth workshops in its lovely studio space at Hogtown Bayou, located at 105 Hogtown Bayou Lane in Santa Rosa Beach. Workshop activities include, but are not limited to, drawing, printmaking, painting, and creating books. Classes are designed for children of all artistic abilities with fun and creativity for everyone as our goal.

CAA’s A+ Art Fine Art Exhibit Featuring Mara Viksnins Opens June 21

The Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County (CAA) A+ Art Committee in partnership with Northwest Florida State College announces the summer fine art exhibit featuring the work of 2012 Best in Show A+ Art Exhibition winner, Mara Viksnins. Viksnins work will be on display through August 23 at Northwest Florida State College South Walton campus. Viksnins won Best in Show for her piece titled, "Tickling the Ivories," which earned her the solo exhibit.
