Alex Maddox hails from Dothan, Alabama. Even though she grew up in a big family of singers and musicians, she was the only one to pursue it professionally. A vocal performance degree led her to New York City where she pursued a career in opera. More passionate about writing and other kinds of music, Maddox decided to explore opportunities in Nashville. In 2008, she relocated to Tennessee and began writing and playing her own music.
