Beach & Boardwalk Clean Up at St. Andrews State Park
Help Keep Our Beach Beautiful! Join in a Coastal Clean up on September 21st from 10AM - 12PM at St. Andrews State Park in Panama City with the parks long term partner, Friends of St. Andrews State Park. Free entry to all clean up participants.
Volunteers of all ages are invited to come together to help clean up the ecosystem by walking the beach shoreline and removing debris/trash from the beach. Trash bags and gloves will be provided. Be sure to bring water, sunblock, insect repellent, and weather appropriate clothing.
This event will provide an opportunity for volunteers to do something meaningful for the planet by giving back to the community and keeping our beaches clean.
Nearly a million visitors come to St. Andrews State Park annually for pristine white sandy beaches and a chance to witness the Real Florida. Seeing a shoreline spotted with litter is not something that park visitors want to experience, plus it provides added dangers to park wildlife.
This project serves the local community and tourists by providing a clean and safe experience enjoying the beautiful beaches in Panama City Beach. Cleaning the shoreline ensures that beachgoers can have an enjoyable experience, and it also ensures that nesting sea turtles have a safe nesting area. The sea turtle nesting season begins in May, and this project will help to ensure that they have access to important nesting areas in our local community.
The Friends of St. Andrews State Park, Inc. is a nonprofit citizen support organization formed in support of St. Andrews State Park. For more information visit http://www.friendsofstandrews.org/
