What: Blast on the Bay Songwriters Festival in Bay County
When: Sunday, October 22, 2017
Time: 11:00 am to 8:45 pm

Florida's Forgotten Coast will once again play host to a group of musicians and songwriters direct from the streets of Nashville. The 9th annual Blast on the Bay, a premier songwriters festival with over 40 hit songwriters singing and telling their stories spanning 10 venues from Mexico Beach to Indian Pass will take place Oct. 19th - 20th.

Kicking off the weekend is the VIP sponsor/artist welcome reception beach party on Thursday night at 6pm.  Music starts at 4pm on Friday and 11am Saturday & Sunday with the grand finale on Sunday afternoon at the world Famous Indian Pass Raw Bar.

Many songwriters from past events will be returning for another great weekend of music and storytelling, in addition, guests can count on several new faces at this years “Blast.” Said best by one of the founding writers during an interview in the Port St. Joe Star Newspaper: A songwriters’ festival, Nashville songwriter Will Rambeaux said, is a chance to “reconnect to that skinny 18-year-old who wanted to be a rock star.” “Port St. Joe is what I’d call a boutique festival. It is not Key West, where they have something like 300 songwriters and which is the granddaddy of them all. But we keep it small, because we like it that way. The community, the venues, has their charms. We love it.”

Music Venues include: Windmark Amphitheater, Thirsty Goat, Haughty Heron, The Lookout Lounge, The Indian Pass Raw Bar, Toucans, El Governor, Coneheads, Paradise Craft House, Scallop Republic, Krazyfish Grille, and the Port Inn for Gospel Sunday.

All Access Weekend Passes: General Admission - $25, VIP - $100. Tickets will be also be available for purchase at all venues during the event.  For the full artist lineup, daily schedule, and more information visit:  Blast On The Bay Facebook or their website:  Blast On The Bay.

Proceeds from this event benefit the Coastal Songwriters Education Coalition Inc., a 501c3 not for profit. They also partner with several other civic and non-profit groups in the area, including the Gulf Alliance for Local Arts, the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association, and our local grade schools through songwriting workshops, performances and educational opportunities surrounding this event and others throughout the year.
