The Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance (CBA), in partnership with Visit South Walton and Northwest Florida State College, presents a series of Spring eco-adventures in South Walton County. Discover Roads Less Traveled offers visitors and residents varied opportunities to explore and discover the natural resources that make South Walton unique.

Point Washington State Forest Tour
Mar 17 | 9am - 11:30am

We will access the forest by car and take improved roads through several ecosystems until we reach the old Point Washington beach road. Topics will include history and forest management, focusing on fire as a management tool. Then we will head to Eden Gardens State Park where we will spend the remainder of our time. All roads are accessible to 2-wheel-drive vehicles. This trip includes easy walking at a comfortable pace for about 20 minutes. Participants are asked to bring forecast compatible clothing and personal comfort items (i.e. sunscreen, bug spray, etc.).

Space is limited to 10 participants. Minimum of 4.

Location: Meet at South Walton Center of Northwest Florida State College, 109 Greenway Trail, Santa Rosa Beach

Fee: $40
