The Amish Project by Jessica Dickey is a 90-minute docudrama to be performed on the main stage at Emerald Coast Theatre Company January 18-28, 2018. A fictional exploration of the Nickel Mines schoolhouse shooting in an Amish community, “The Amish Project” explores the path of forgiveness and compassion forged in its wake. Due to mature content, this production is appropriate for ages 13 and up.
A modern romantic comedy about a marriage and a dog, A.R. Gurney’s “Sylvia” centers on the world of a middle-aged New York couple turned topsy-turvy when the husband brings home an exceptionally engaging canine running loose in Central Park. “Sylvia” will be staged Feb. 15 through March 4. It runs 120 minutes and is appropriate for ages 13 and up due to mature situations.
Ticket prices for the docudrama, The Amish Project, are $26 for adult, $22 for senior, $18 student for the musical.
The Amish Project showtimes: January 18-28 | Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm | Sundays at 2:00pm.
Theater patrons are encouraged to come early (doors open at 6:30 p.m.) to browse artwork by local artists showcased in the ECTC Lobby Gallery curated by artist Lori Drew, founder of Lowkylzart. A portion of proceeds from each sale benefits ECTC and its education outreach and scholarship programs.
Emerald Coast Theatre Company (ECTC) launches its fifth season on the Northwest Florida Gulf Coast with four productions on its professional main stage located at Grand Boulevard. The 2017-18 season will include a musical comedy, a play, a docudrama and a romantic comedy.
