Glen David Andrews @ Grayton Bar & Grill
Glen David Andrews + Grayton Bar & Grill = a Rockin' New Year's Eve!
Who dat say they got the best New Year’s Eve celebration on 30A? Why Gryaton Bar & Grill do, of course. The evening’s entertainment features Glen David Andrews, a 6’ 4” baritone trombonist who hails from the Treme section of New Orleans where he’s not only played himself in the HBO Treme series but has played one of his original songs. He towers over his audience with both his extraordinary voice and his bigger-than-life presence. Andrews, accompanied by guitar, bass and drums, plays it all – gospel, jazz and blues – with mindfulness to the cultural heritage from which his music came…the third row pew of a Baptist Church in New Orleans’ 6th Ward where he came up spiritually and musically. In the tradition of second-line parade music, Andrews’ talent and showmanship is perfectly paired with an outstanding New Year’s Eve menu created by Chef Johnny Earles, which includes a midnight Champagne toast to ring in 2014 and bid 2013 adieu.
