Join us in celebrating Henderson Beach State Park's 37th anniversary and the 85th anniversary of the Florida Park Service. Learn about the park's history as well as speak with agencies that work with the park service and in our community such as the Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), Gulfarium, Friends of the Emerald Coast State Parks and Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance (CBA).
There will be hands-on activities, games and educational materials as well a Junior Ranger area. In addition there will be a nature trail walk at 1 p.m. when visitors can learn about the history and importance of our beautiful state park. Join us at 11 a.m. for cake cutting, coffee and hot cocoa.
Event free with paid park admission: $6 vehicle (2 to 8 people), $4 single-occupant vehicle, $2 pedestrian.
Henderson Beach State Park: Enjoy a majestic shoreline anchored by 30-foot, snow-white sand dunes where basking in the Florida sun or wading into warm Gulf waters is the order of each and every day.
No need to daydream — Henderson Beach makes this a reality. This protected strip of the Emerald Coast isn’t just for relaxation. Fishing, a nature trail and 60 campsites connected to the beach via boardwalk are among this park’s featured areas. This special place was established for the preservation and protection of the area’s natural features and public enjoyment, the last remaining coastal scrub area in Destin.
The park also provides beautiful campsites, and it’s a great place for events like weddings and family reunions.
