Balder Saunders @ First Friday Art Walk: Amavida & Anne Hunter Galleries

Amavida Coffee and Anne Hunter Galleries kick off the fall season with a performance by Balder Saunders on the October 4th First Friday Art Walk to mark the 10-year anniversary of Woodie Long’s first art exhibition in Seaside. The event is 6 to 8 p.m. Free to attend. Food and Beverages are available for purchase at Amavida and surrounding restaurants.

The artist’s widow, Dot Long, pays tribute to Seaside and her husband’s art career that began one decade ago in Seaside, where Long would launch his career to become a renowned primitive artist who is beloved locally and nationally recognized by the Smithsonian. The opening of Woodie Long Anniversary show at Amavida will coincide with opening the Blue Sea Collective in Anne Hunter Galleries. A body of work created by two well-known local favorites, Didon Comer and Kris Chavez, the exhibition features the colors and landscapes of Walton County. Both shows will run through 2019. 

First Friday ArtWalk in Seaside
Make plans to spend your first Friday of each month strolling Central Square and visiting Seaside Merchants from 5-7pm. Participating merchants will host special in-store exhibits and events showcasing their jewelry, art, fashion, music, wine and food. It's a great way to start the weekend at the beach.
