As part of the continuing Art in Public Places, Melissa Mercer will display her work at the Coastal Branch Library for the month of October, 2018.

Free for the public.

Local South Walton artist, Melissa Mercer Brown lives on the Choctawhatchee Bay in Santa Rosa Beach where she finds beautiful and abundant inspiration all around her. Her style of painting is often using layers of texture and translucent washes finished with high gloss acrylic mediums to achieve depth, interest and beauty.  She works out of her studio warehouse off of CR 393 South in Santa Rosa Beach and her paintings can be seen at her studio and on permanent display at The Henderson Beach Resort in Destin, Florida.

Her other contributions to our community include being on the Board of the Cultural Arts Alliance (CAA), past board member and art curator for the Coastal Branch Library, member of the Artists of 30A brand, and a member of the Henderson Beach Resort Artist Project.  She also served as past chair and co-chair for the Visual Arts Committee, a subcommittee of the CAA.

“I love to see my paintings come alive with vibrancy, color and texture when I’m nearing my completion. There is a tremendous satisfaction when you have created something beautiful that you were really unsure about at the beginning”.

Melissa has been a local South Walton resident since 2010 after growing up in Alabama and living in Arizona and Georgia.  Visit MelissaMercerBrown.com for more information about her artwork.
