Nashville Songwriters in a Line featuring songwriters Tony Arata, Marc Beeson, and Marcus Hummon performing on The Hub's outdoor concert stage, Saturday, August 15, 7-10pm.

Come early and bring your low back chairs to claim your spot on the lawn. No outside food or drink is allowed, but there’ll be plenty of wonderful food available until 10pm and full bar will be open until midnight.

Tony Arata: Nashville Songwriter Hall of Fame member, Tony Arata, gained international fame and recognition for writing the Garth Brooks #1 smash hit, The Dance and has continued to garner critical acclaim throughout his prolific career. Along with receiving the Academy of Country Music Award for Song of the Year for his much loved Brooks song, he was also nominated for a Grammy and The Dance was the most played song in the country in 1990. Penning songs for Brooks on seven of his albums and three more #1s from Patty Loveless, Leroy Parnell and Clay Walker, he continues to write for artists such as Emmylou Harris, Bonnie Raitt, Trisha Yearwood, Delbert McClinton, Randy Travis, Reba McEntire and a host of others.

Marc Beeson: Marc is an Illinois native and a 20 year Nashville veteran who has had over 100 of his songs recorded by such artists as Reba McEntire, Jason Aldean, Kenny Rogers, Martina McBride, Peter Cetera, Diamond Rio, Billy Currington, LeAnn Rimes, Lady Antebellum, Garth Brooks, Chicago, and many others. He has won 10 ASCAP awards, including both Country and Pop Song of the Year for his #1 hit When She Cries by Restless Heart. As an artist, he has recorded for Warner Bros., BNA (RCA Label Group) and Curb Records. He has served on the Board of NSAI (Nashville Songwriters Association International), has worked as a mentor in the MTSU music business program, and is on the NARAS (Grammys) educational committee. He co-wrote the #1 title track, We Are Tonight, for Billy Currington’s debut album, as well as Lady Antebellum's UK single, Lie With Me. He also co-wrote the title track of Ashley Monroe's latest record, The Blade.

Marcus Hummon: Grammy winner, Marcus Hummon has enjoyed a successful career as a songwriter, recording artist, composer, playwright and author. His songs have been recorded in many genres – Country, Pop, R&B, and Gospel. His best known hits are: Bless the Broken Road (Rascal Flatts), Cowboy Take Me Away and Ready to Run (The Dixie Chicks), Born to Fly (Sara Evans), One of These Days (Tim McGraw), and Only Love (Wynonna). Several of his songs have been nominated for Grammys, ACMs and CMAs. In 2005, Bless the Broken Road won the Grammy for “Best Country Song”. Along the way, he has garnered numerous BMI awards, including 5 #1s.

As a recording artist and multi-instrumentalist, Marcus released a critically acclaimed country record for Columbia Records in 1995, All in Good Time. In 1998, Marcus and Scottish “Big Country” front-man, Stuart Adamson, released their duo album, Supernatural, as “The Raphaels”.
