Off-the-Hook Who Dat @ Grayton Bar & Grill
You heard it here first…that’s right…the New Orleans’ brass band sound of the Glen David Andrews Band is playing at Grayton Bar & Grill’s inaugural Sunday brunch! Andrews, a 6’ 4” baritone trombonist who hails from the Treme section (he’s played himself in the HBO Treme series as well as one of his original songs) of NoLA, towers over his audience with both his extraordinary voice and his bigger-than-life presence. Andrews, accompanied by guitar, bass and drums, plays it all – gospel, jazz and blues – with mindfulness to the cultural heritage from which his music came…the third row pew of a Baptist Church in New Orleans’ 6th Ward where he came up spiritually and musically. In the tradition of second-line parade music, Andrews’ talent and showmanship is perfectly paired with an outstanding brunch menu, endless Champagne, Grayton Girl Bubbly and Mimosas AND the New Orleans Saints/Atlanta Falcons game on a 50” screen in the pallet “Board” room-turned-man-cave. How’s dat for a Sunday afternoon?
