CANCELED: Rotary Club Destin Cajun Crawfish Bash

It is with great sadness that, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, we have decided to cancel our 8th Annual Destin Rotary Cajun Crawfish Bash Charity Fundraiser. Working with our sponsors, we decided it would be better to cancel the event versus postponing it and risking a lackluster turnout and erosion of our net proceeds for our charities. Our sponsors have generously agreed to donate their sponsorship fees (totaling $19,500!) to our designated charities (Food For Thought Outreach Inc, Harvest House Destin, Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation, and Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast) so they can put the funds to immediate use during this difficult time.

The Rotary Club of Destin will host its 8th annual Cajun Crawfish Bash on Friday, May 1st from 5:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Mezcal Mexican Grill inside The Towne Centre at Seascape. The Rotary Club of Destin is known for serving up the best Cajun crawfish, libations and live music. Back by popular demand is Fais Do-Do Band performing their unique genre of zydeco music. Integrating a blend of R&B, soul, brass band, reggae, hip hop, ska, rock and Afro-Caribbean, you are guaranteed to be dancing!

Regular crawfish ticket, $30 | All you can eat crawfish, $50 | Kids and non-crawfish ticket, $15 

Event proceeds benefit young families in need through Food For Thought, Harvest House, Boys & Girls Club of the Emerald Coast, Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation’s community outreach initiatives and The Destin Rotary Scholarship Fund.

The public is invited to join in the Cajun festivities. The fun event is suitable for families and folks of all ages. Fresh crawfish from Louisiana will be dished up with the traditional potatoes and corn on the cob.  For those who don’t crave crawfish, there will also be grilled hamburgers, hot dogs and rotisserie chicken prepared fresh on-site.

The Rotary Club of Destin represents over 50 business women and men who are committed to “Service Above Self” and whose mission is to positively change lives through service…across the street and around the world with emphasis on eradicating hunger and supporting education in our community and internationally.  The Rotary Club meets every Tuesday at 7:15 a.m. at Rutherford’s 465 at Regatta Bay Golf & Country Club.
