Seaside School Half Marathon & 5K Run: Race Expo

Seaside Half Marathon & 5K Race Expo takes place on Saturday, February 29 at Seaside Lyceum from 12-6pm, the day before Race Day! The Race Expo is always a fun filled day in Seaside, Florida where everyone is welcome to come out to pick up a race tshirt, listen to some music and spend time with friends, bid on auction items and enjoy a beautiful day all around town.

Race Expo is free to attend and open to the general public from 12:00 to 6:00 PM at the Seaside® Lyceum. This is the time for race participants pick up their registration packets and highly sought after commemorative race shirt. As all of the weekend’s events are uniquely Seaside®, this is no ordinary packet pick-up party. Local and national vendors at the Expo will offer a wide variety of equipment, apparel, footwear and accessories for runners in addition to specialty items that anyone would enjoy.

The Silent Auction continues during the day with plenty of opportunity to bid up your favorite items including local vacation packages, one-of-a-kind artwork from South Walton artists and rare merchandise that can’t be found anywhere else. Like all events that are a part of the 2020 Seaside® School Race Weekend, the Race Expo takes place in the heart of Seaside® with its dozens of shops, restaurants, art galleries and sweeping views of the Gulf of Mexico making it the perfect precursor to the weekend’s main event.

Meet & Greet with Tom Glavine
Break out your Braves cap, perfect your Tomahawk Chop and join us at the 2020 Race Expo for a Meet and Greet with 30A local, Tom Glavine. A pitcher, Glavine played Major League Baseball for the Atlanta Braves and New York Mets. He was the MVP of the 1995 World Series when the Atlanta Braves beat the Cleveland Indians.

Tom will be taking photos and signing autographs during the 18th Annual Seaside School Half Marathon & 5K Race Expo for a suggested $20 donation. All donations will go directly to support the Seaside School Foundation and their mission to further excellence through education at the Seaside Neighborhood School and Seacoast Collegiate High School.

Photos will be available at the Epic Photo Co. booth, but guests are welcome to bring in baseballs or other memorabilia to sign. (Limit one per $20 donation.)

The 18th annual Seaside School Half Marathon and 5K Race, presented by Vera Bradley, is coming up Sunday, March 1 in Seaside, Florida. Race weekend kicks off on Friday night with Taste of the Race with Chef Emeril Lagasse. Spend an exciting Saturday afternoon at Race Expo. And Sunday is race day. This is one of the most anticipated weekends of the year in South Walton, Florida. For the 18th year we celebrate this out-and-back, fast and mostly flat course where runners from all over the US pass quaint beach towns, dune lakes, and the world's most beautiful beaches. All proceeds benefit the Seaside School Foundation. Let the weekend festivities begin!

Around 4,000 people from 40+ states are coming to SoWal Beaches to participate in the race this year! Thousands of friends and families will be cheering from the sidelines along the Scenic Hwy 30A race course. The race starts early Sunday morning in Seaside and the course continues west along Scenic 30A through WaterColor, over Western Lake in Grayton Beach, through Blue Mountain Beach to Gulf Place, and then back to Seaside.

The race weekend offers three days of exciting events for everyone including runners, visitors, locals and volunteers. Taste of the Race with Chef Emeril Lagasse kicks off the weekend on Friday evening under the tent at the Seaside Lyceum. Saturday's Race Expo & Silent Auction is one big party with vendors, food and live entertainment all afternoon. Sunday is race day followed by a post-race party with live music.

Friday Feb. 28  - Seaside School Pre-Race Party | Taste of The Race!
Taste of the Race with Emeril takes place on Friday night at the Seaside Lyceum, from 7-9pm, with a VIP reception from 6-7pm. Everyone is invited to celebrate, enjoy good food, live music and kick off another great Seaside race weekend! Join Chef Emeril Lagasse in person and enjoy cuisine from two of Emeril’s famous restaurants along with some of the Gulf Coast’s top chefs and restaurants such as Great Southern Café, The Bay, Stinky’s Fish Camp, Bud & Alley’s, and more! Enjoy complimentary fine wine, craft spirits, and craft beer from Grayton Beer while listening to live music! The outdoor evening festivities will be held rain or shine in a heated tent, under the big top! Space is limited. Saturday, Feb. 29 - Race Expo 
The Expo is FREE and open to everyone from noon to 6pm at the Seaside Lyceum. The vendors at the Expo will offer a wide variety of equipment, apparel, footwear and accessories for the whole family. The Expo will have a great selection of merchandise at great prices. A Silent Auction Expo features "buy it now" pricing and continues through Sunday. Live music til 2pm.
 
Sunday, March 1 - Race Day! 
One of South Walton's most popular events, the Seaside School Half Marathon & 5K Race takes place Sunday, March 5 beginning at 7am in Seaside. Seaside's Half Marathon and 5K Run, established in 2003 to raise funds for the Seaside Neighborhood School, has become a huge community affair, drawing more than 4,000 runners from around the world.

Half Marathon & 5K Races: The course is fast and mostly flat. The race is USATF certified, and will start and finish in downtown Seaside. Volunteers and community groups will line the race course to cheer you on and provide entertainment. Registration is expected to fill up early so sign up as soon as possible. There will be NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION. Registration fees are NON-REFUNDABLE and NONTRANSFERABLE. Register online at runseasidefl.com.

A post race party will take place throughout the town of Seaside including food, drink, awards and silent auction final call.
