EVENT INFO:

Join the Cultural Arts Alliance on Thursday, May 7th from 7 - 10 PM for an evening to benefit the Underwater Museum of Art (UMA). The annual Under The Sea UMA concert and fundraiser takes place at Grand Park in the heart of Grand Boulevard in South Walton, Florida. Tickets to be announced.

The 3rd annual “Under the Sea” fundraising event is the official kick-off event for Art Month South Walton and will celebrate the Underwater Museum of Art‘s third voyage with a night of art, dancing, cocktails, food, and fun! Enjoy complimentary food by several of South Walton’s favorite restaurants and a full cash bar and have an exclusive chance to see several of the UMA sculptures on land before they are deployed into the Gulf of Mexico and meet the artists who designed and created them! All net proceeds will help fund the third deployment of sculptures into the Underwater Museum of Art in 2020.

The 2020 UMA installation will include the following pieces of sculpture: Bee Grayt by Katie Witherspoon (Santa Rosa Beach, FL), Building Blocks by Zachary Long (Oklahoma City, OK), Dawn Dancers by Shohini Ghosh (Highlands Ranch, CO), Eco-Bug by Priscila D'Brito (Boca Raton, FL), From The Depths by Kirk Seese (Lutherville, MD), Hope by Jonathan Burger (New Bern, NC) and Three Wishes by Marisol Rendón and Ingram Ober (San Diego, CA).

The 2020 UMA installation will join the seventeen sculptures previously deployed on a one-acre permit patch of seabed off Grayton Beach State Park, further expanding the nation’s first permanent underwater museum. Deployment of the 2020 UMA installation is slated for Summer 2020.

The sculptures will be on display at the fundraiser and throughout the weekend during the ArtsQuest Fine Arts Festival in Grand Boulevard.

The UMA is a presentation of the CAA’s 'Art in Public Spaces' program in partnership with South Walton Artificial Reef Association (SWARA) with the purpose to create marine habitat and expand fishery populations while providing enhanced creative, cultural, economic and educational opportunities for the benefit, education and enjoyment of residents, students and visitors in South Walton.
